Ops Control HQ · Deadline Intelligence Evaluation

Illinois UST sump opportunities, screened for the October 13, 2028 transition.

A source-linked public-record review layer for petroleum-equipment contractors evaluating where containment-sump work may warrant follow-up before Illinois' 2028 rule change.

Official rule change

Illinois OSFM says that on or after October 13, 2028, containment sumps must be installed where no sump currently exists, and all sumps must be maintained clean and dry.

Stricter screen

Facility must be Active, at least one dispenser must be Active and recorded “Not Installed UDC Sump,” and the current page must show no active permit and no current NOV.

What it means

A review candidate is a reason for a contractor to verify current conditions and opportunity—not a finding that a facility is noncompliant or definitely needs work.

Validation question: how many of these five were already on your 2028 upgrade radar?

Important: OSFM public records can be incomplete, delayed, or superseded by work/plans not visible on the page. “No active permit” and “no current NOV” mean only that none were shown on the OSFM facility detail at the time checked. Nothing here is a compliance determination, engineering assessment, legal conclusion, or guarantee that work is required.
